Description

INTRODUCTION Today's generation is modern generation. The people are always in rush of competition with each other. Thus this era can also be called as competitive world. This research is also about such competition but in context of parents. In today's generation even before birth of the child parents are deciding the school for their child, which stream he would choose, what he would become and they are always worried about their career, and they start planning about their future. "Pre-school" is one of the part of it. We can find 4 to 5 pre-school within 1 km of radius. We have included NURSERY, SR.KG and JR.KG into pre-school. These pre-schools are operated by some of the private, government, trust or religious institutions. Some of the government pre-schools are operated under high schools. Most of the well known and reputed pre-schools have waiting list. Parents try to admit their child into pre-school as soon as they cross the age of 2 years. Here, parents get their child admitted into the "pre-school", but after that questions arises about parental satisfaction and parental attitude. What is parental attitude towards pre-school? Is it positive or negative? Are they satisfied or not? If 'yes' then up to what extent? In this research honest attempt has been made to get answers of all this questions. In this research, we have included those parents whose children are studying in pre-school. The study of parental satisfaction and parental attitude towards pre-school is conducted regarding parent's gender, types of family and their education qualification. In this research, 'gender' is selected as one of the variable. The reason behind selection of 'gender' as variable is that if there is any different in parental attitude for male and female. From mother's attitude, perhaps it is quite possible that her responsibility towards child would decrease for few hours, while on the other side father might really want his child's growth by admitting in the pre-school. "Type of family" is selected as second variable in this research. Joint family and nuclear family is included in research. In society, it has been observed that people who are living in joint family come across fewer difficulties in parenting, reason for that is child tends to learn new things from other family member's behavior.
