An evening with the authors of Missing Witches: Recovering True Histories of Feminist Magic.
May 20th, 7:30PM CDT / 8:30 EST / 5:30 PST
“Here … we meet the Witch friends we always wanted and find the coven we always wish we had.”
—Amanda Yates Garcia, author of Initiated
“Amy and Risa are the Witches I was missing! Join them and discover powerfully creative yet complicated Witches, whose storied tales were almost lost to time.”
—Jinkx Monsoon, drag artist and winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race
Through meditations, stories, and practices, Missing Witches authors and podcasters Risa Dickens and Amy Torok offer an intersectional, contemporary lens for uncovering and reconnecting with feminist Witch history. On May 20th, let’s come together to celebrate missing histories. Risa and Amy will slip through portals from their cabins out in the woods of Quebec, Canada to join us for a reading and conversation - and maybe a little collective, magical history-telling as well - live at Blue Cypress via Zoom.
After reading pieces from the Beltane and Ostara chapters in Missing Witches Amy and Risa will ask attendees: Who is missing from our collectives histories of feminist power and magic? Who should we honour together? A family member, an artist, an activist or community member who impacted you? Let's say their names and plant these powerful ancestors in all our hearts like seeds for what we can become, and honour them on a collective, virtual altar for Spring!
