About the Author

Smith, Ph.D., is a pilot, human factors engineer, aviation psychology professor, and lieutenant colonel at the United States Air Force Academy, where he teaches a number of performance-related courses to the next generation of warrior pilots. He has flown and instructed in multi-engine crewed aircraft as well as trainers. He resides near Colorado Springs with his wife Laura and children Ryan, Stephanie, and Andrew.
