"Merida: City of Light and Shadows" is a photographic documentation which captures the urban landscape of a colonial city in present time. The elements of light, shadows, textures, time, and space all merge in an amazing setting, representing the character of this unique city.
About the Author
Carlos Domenech is an architectural and fine art photographer whose commissions over the last 33 years have extended from the U.S., Europe and South America to Russia and China. His editorial work has been published in magazines around the world, including Architectural Digest, Casa Vogue Spain, AD Italy, House & Garden Australia, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Southern Accents, Veranda, and in travel books on China, Istanbul, Ecuador, Guatemala, Russia, Italy, and Spain. His photography of the imperial palaces of St. Petersburg was published as an exhibition catalog as work produced during travel in Russia. Additionally, his photography has been exhibited in museums and galleries and acquired for numerous private and museum collections. Images from “Merida, City of Light and Shadows" was shown at the Venice Biennale 2018 for the European Cultural Center. He studied at (RIT) Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester New York and received a Bachelor's degree in Fine art photography and a minor in Architectural photography in 1982, Mr. Domenech commenced upon his professional career documenting architecture and interior photography in 1984. He lives in Miami and is presently working on a selection of book projects.
