Description

The man is a builder and businessman, but also a thinker, a philosopher, and a self-taught theologian. He acts nearly alone in his final endeavor. He thinks for himself, prays his own authentic prayers, and listens hard for the answers.

He has watched the culture disintegrate right before his eyes. He knew it was heading to the bottom, well past a point of no return. But even he was surprised at how much the decline had picked up speed, developed a horrible acceleration, and took on an irreversible momentum all its own.

The ship, the last ship out of this hellish existence, is consuming all of his time and resources. For those who are watching and listening, there are signs of a climactic catastrophe. He knows time is running out. The planet's time. Humanity's time. His time.

Cameron Barrett tells a relentless, dramatic story about eight stalwarts facing insurmountable problems in a violent society. Watching these grudging heroes in action, we're reminded that each of us has to make our own choice about leaving a destructive lifestyle behind. We may come to a crossroad where we ourselves have to choose: Will we go along with the prevalent thought, or will we stand up for what is decent and right? Will we choose the narcissistic lifes that leads to destruction? Or will we board the last ship out?

About the Author

Cameron Barrett is an American novelist. He has lived and worked extensively in both secular and faith-based businesses, which has given him the real-life experience to develop his characters with all of their various motivations, decisions, and emotions.

He serves on the boards of a number of business organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit, and has served as the president of several organizations, which has given him a broad perspective on building teams and managing projects. His background in engineering and science, overseeing the design, development, and construction of a number of facilities, left him well-prepared to explore the task of building a ship.

He spent a number of years as a pastor of an interdenominational Christian church, where he attempted to relate historical and biblical characters to present-day life. He also served as a youth pastor, where he learned to use the power of stories to convey important truths to young adults who had both a healthy curiosity and active imaginations.

Now living and writing in the American Midwest, he is blessed with a writing partner who loves to read and comment on his manuscripts (whether he likes it or not)! He enjoys the company of his large-and-growing family, both biological and spiritual.

He warmly welcomes you into a mutually uplifting dialogue with him at cbarrettusa@gmail.com. You can also follow him on his blog at ProvocativeChristianity.com.
