This activity guide was designed to accompany the Middle School Misfits: The Stained Glass Tree chapter book. It provides 20 lessons and activities to help teachers and counselors guide students as they learn to adjust and make the most of this important time in their lives.
The guide is broken into five sections:

- Interacting with Others
- Emotional Intelligence
- Decision Making
- Just for Fun
Each section includes three to five activities to engage students in discussion, self-reflection, and learning on these important topics. The activities includes instructions, a materials list, worksheets and handouts which are available for download.

About the Author
Leona Lugan spent 10 years working with victims of crime and family abuse. She currently provides grant writing services, ghost writing, and consultation to nonprofit organizations and small businesses. Her educational background in communication, sociology, and guidance counseling has given her a broad base from which to approach many topics affecting today's youth. Her personal experience growing up poor in the Midwest, frequently moving from town to town, inspired her to write Middle SchoolMisfits.
