Embark on a comprehensive exploration aimed at identifying the diverse approaches employed by senior managers in Japanese firms that significantly influence work-life balance (WLB). Rooted in theoretical frameworks such as spillover, conflict, and boundary theories, this project delves into the complex interplay between management strategies and WLB, considering cultural, economic, and organizational factors unique to Japan. The research design and methodology, based on an evidence-based practice framework, utilize systematic review processes, data extraction, quality appraisal, and thematic coding to derive key insights.

The study's findings underscore the substantial impact of societal, gender, organizational, and policy approaches on WLB in Japanese firms. As the dissertation unfolds, it recommends tangible measures to mitigate traditional overtime practices, fostering a more balanced work environment. Additionally, the inclusion of women in the workforce is advocated, emphasizing the integration of WLB practices as a means to achieve these objectives.
