Women, and also health and social service professionals, must rebel against the medical mistreatment from which they suffer. The book addresses in detail: menopause, the medicalization of puberty, contraceptives, numerous aspects related to pregnancy, annual gynecological examinations, egg freezing, osteoporosis, voluntary abortion, the vaccine against the papillomavirus, ovarian cancer, mammograms, and 50 cases take from the daily lives of women.

Maria Pérez-Fernández studied Medicine at the University of Valladolid where she obtained a degree in Childcare and Occupational Medicine. She was a professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain) and has worked as a specialist in Internal Medicine and a family doctor. In 2010 she retired to dedicate herself to teaching and research. She is responsible for ethics at the Spanish Primary Care Network and at NoGracias. Juan Gérvas is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Valladolid and worked as a family doctor until his retirement. He is the author of the trilogy Sano y salvo, La expropiación de la salud, and El encarnizamiento médico con las mujeres, together with Mercedes Pérez-Fernández.
